Us Entwined is built on the principle of radical privacy. We do not collect, request, or store Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your legal name, email address, phone number, or physical address. Your account is identified solely by a randomly generated username.
2. Information We Collect
We collect and store the data you explicitly provide during the quiz process. This includes the partner names you choose (which can be pseudonyms), the categories of intimacy you select, your answers to the quiz questions (Yes, No, or Maybe), and any optional comments or notes you leave for your partner.
3. Use of Data
Your data is used exclusively to facilitate the "double-blind" matching process. Answers are compared by our system to determine shared interests and are revealed only to your partner based on your chosen privacy settings. Aggregate, non-identifiable data may be used for internal statistics (e.g., determining which intimacy categories are most popular).
4. Data Security
We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data. This includes the use of PDO prepared statements to prevent SQL injection and Bcrypt hashing for any passwords you choose to set.
User Responsibility: Because we do not use emails for account recovery, you are solely responsible for remembering your username and password. If these credentials are lost, the data remains encrypted and inaccessible even to our administrators.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use a single, essential session cookie to manage your progress through the quiz and maintain your authenticated state. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function.
We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or external analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics). To understand site performance and traffic sources, we use a private, internal system that generates an anonymous daily hash based on your connection data. This allows us to count unique visitors without ever identifying you personally or storing your raw IP address in our database.
6. Third-Party Links and Affiliates
Our "Resources" page contains links to third-party websites. Some of these links are referral or affiliate links, meaning we may receive a commission if you make a purchase or sign up through them. These third-party sites have their own independent privacy policies, and we have no responsibility or liability for their content or activities.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Quizzes and associated answers that have not been accessed for more than 90 days may be automatically deleted from our servers during routine maintenance.
